Where is it? The Macon County Invitational Meet is held at Macon County High School. The address is 2550 Days Rd., Lafayette TN What time do we need to be there? Where is it? This meet is hosted by Central Magnet, but it is held at the World Outreach Church in Murfreesboro, TN. The address is 1921 New Salem Rd., Murfreesboro, TN 37128. What time do we need to be there? We need to be there by 2:40 p.m. so we can preview the course, get set up, warmed up, and stretched out. The middle school meet schedule is as follows: 4:00 p.m. Middle School JV Boys Race 4:30 p.m. Middle School JV Girls Race 5:00 p.m. Middle School Boys Varsity Race 5:30 p.m. Middle School Girls Varsity Race 6:00 p.m. Awards Presentation How will students be dismissed and get to the meet? *As always, parent transportation is how your child must get to the meet. Students will be released to go change clothes during their sixth period class (about 1:50pm). After students have changed, they need to meet in Coach White’s room 701. All students should be done changing and in room 701 by 2:00p.m. Coach White will then call roll to make sure everyone is there and ready to go. Parents should meet us in the FRONT parking lot, where we will leave at 2:10 p.m. sharp. This is a school day meet: If a runner is carpooling with another athlete (meaning a parent besides their own is driving), their parents MUST complete a permission slip that is given to Coach White no later than Monday Sept. 25. What awards are being presented at the meet? Varsity Team awards: 1st-3rd place Varsity Individual awards: Top 25 medals JV Team awards: 1st place JV Team awards: Top 10 ribbons Who are our volunteers for this meet? We need to be there by 7:45a.m. The middle school meet schedule is as follows: 8:30 am A Girls 9:00 am AA Girls 9:30 am A Boys 10:00 am AA Boys 10:30 am JV Girls (not officially timed) 11:00 am JV Boys (not officially timed) 11:30 Awards Will there be a caravan of cars going together? *Yes. How many qualify for state from this meet? Murfreesboro will advance 43 qualifiers (top five teams and the eight next best times) from each classification (A, AA, and AAA). The runners should do some core work (crunches, planks, reverse crunches, bicycle crunches) instead. We will resume practice tomorrow.
Two things:
There will be practice the same time as usual this Thursday, even though we're on abbreviated schedule. We'll meet at the back of the school at 3:30 and end at 4:30. The NEW uniforms arrived; they look really nice! Runners need to bring their old uniform (washed) in to me (the coach) this week so I can give them their new uniform before we run Saturday. Milton, TN 37118 ***Please note, because it is on a family farm, each kid and their parents will have to fill out a "Release and Permission Form" in order to run. I passed these out a few weeks ago. I need these returned to me by Thursday afternoon (Sept. 14). What time do we need to be there? We need to be there by 8:00a.m. so we can preview the course, get set up, warmed up, and stretched out.
